Margaret (Meega) Wells is the Dean of the Purcell School of Professional Studies at Le Moyne College and has been at the College since 2015. She completed her BS in Nursing at Georgetown University, and earned a MS in Nursing and post-master’s certificate as an adult nurse practitioner from Syracuse University. She completed a PhD in Rural Nursing from Binghamton University. She began her nursing career in Boston at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and returned to Washington, D.C. to work at the Clinical Center at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital and their College of Nursing for 10 years. Later, she was employed at the College of Nursing at SUNY Upstate Medical University for 15 years where she served in various academic positions including Director of Graduate Nursing Programs and Assistant Dean for Outcomes and Evaluation. She has volunteered as a nurse practitioner at a free healthcare clinic in Syracuse since 2010. She serves on the Board of Trustees for a regional health system and the Board of Directors for a federally qualified healthcare center in the Central New York region.
