Saint Peter’s University offers a Jesuit Mission Seminar for New Faculty.

Learning Objectives:

1. Faculty acquire a well-rounded knowledge and critical appropriation of the Jesuit spiritual, theological, and pedagogical tradition.

2. Faculty acquire a knowledge of the Jesuit identity and mission of Saint Peter’s University.

3. Faculty familiarize themselves with peers who are beginning at Saint Peter’s University, and strategize about how to incorporate Jesuit values into their teaching and research.

4. Faculty familiarize themselves with the efforts of senior faculty to incorporate Jesuit values into their teaching and research.

Lessons Learned:

Having senior faculty speakers is very helpful, especially in areas of Ignatian pedagogy. The seminar discussion format works very well.

An end-of-semester questionnaire indicated that members of the first cohort were generally pleased with the program.
