Shá Duncan Smith is the vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion at Santa Clara University, a position she assumed in 2021. Previously, Shá served as assistant vice president and dean of inclusive excellence and community development at Swarthmore College, and before that she served in leadership roles at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, its School of Public Health, and its Center for Global and Intercultural Study. She also serves as teaching faculty and senior strategist at the University of Southern California’s Race and Equity Center where she has taught courses on leading during racial crises, accountability, incentives, and strategic planning for advancing equity.
