John Kiess is Associate Professor of Theology and Director of the Office of Peace and Justice at Loyola University Maryland. His teaching and research interests lie at the intersection of religion, ethics, and politics. He is the author of Hannah Arendt and Theology and numerous articles and chapters that have appeared in Modern Theology, The Journal of Moral Theology, The Christian Century, and various edited collections. He serves as co-chair of Loyola’s presidential task force investigating its institutional connections to slavery.
