Dr. Danny G. Willis serves as the Joan Hrubetz Endowed Dean and Professor at Saint Louis University School of Nursing. He has held progressive academic leadership positions over the past decade at Boston College, William F. Connell School of Nursing and the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing. Throughout his career he has worked to champion student, faculty, and staff success, and diversity within the profession. He has held several leadership positions in national and international professional organizations. His nursing practice has focused in the specialty of psychiatric mental health. He holds credentialing as a board-certified clinical specialist in adult mental health from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Dr. Willis’ program of research focuses on promoting healing in the aftermath of traumatic experiences of abuse and violence, and specifically with male survivors, including child maltreatment survivors. His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He also serves as qualitative research consultant for colleagues on their past and current NIH funded research grants.
