Michael L. Capella began serving as Dean of the Joseph A. Butt, S.J., College of Business at Loyola University New Orleans in June of 2019. As Dean, Michael provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for the College of Business, including new program development. For instance, he is responsible for the development of two new online cross-disciplinary specialized Master’s degree programs. Specifically, the Masters of Science in Marketing and Communications is a collaboration with the Loyola College of Music and Media. And a Master of Science in Healthcare Management launches this fall in conjunction with the Loyola College of Nursing and Health.

Previously, he was Associate Dean of Graduate & Executive Programs, and Professor of Marketing at the Villanova School of Business. He joined the faculty at Villanova in 2005 after receiving his Ph.D. from Mississippi State University. Prior to receiving his Ph.D. in Marketing, Michael spent almost ten years in professional sales management with a food manufacturer. His industry experience included account management and relationship marketing with large retail grocery chains, wholesale accounts and channel intermediaries in Georgia, Florida and California.
