I have been in the human resources field and higher education for over 25 years. I’m currently the Associate Vice President for Human Resources at Regis University and have been in this role since August 2019. Prior to my current position, I served in a human resources leadership role at the following institutions: Santa Clara University, The Art Institute of Colorado, Regis University, and the City of Lone Tree. I am also an affiliate faculty member with Regis University, teaching in both their Organizational Leadership and Human Resources Departments. I have been teaching with Regis since May 2013.
I received my Bachelors of Science in Business & Economics from St. Mary’s College (CA) and an MBA from Santa Clara University (CA). I have an EdD in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University. My dissertation topic was on mid-level leadership in local government. I also hold the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and the SHRM-Senior Certified Professional certifications. I am the current President-Elect for the CUPA – HR Rocky Mountain Chapter.
On a personal note, I’ve been married to Hugh Whitmore for 28 years; we both love to run 5Ks and spend time in the outdoors exploring Colorado, with a current goal to visit all of its state parks. I have one daughter, Madeline, who is 24, and also in higher education; she currently works at Baylor University, where she just completed her Master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs and in August started in their PhD in Higher Education and Leadership Studies.
