Brad Elliott Stone is Professor of Philosophy and (incoming) Associate Dean for Faculty, Shared Governance, and Graduate Programs for the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts at Loyola Marymount University. He received his B.A. in both Philosophy and Modern Language Studies at Georgetown College (Ky.) [1998] and his Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Memphis [2003]. He was a Fulbright scholar to the University of Salamanca 1998-1999. His research is in 20th Century Continental Philosophy and American Philosophy. He is the coauthor of two monographs, and coeditor of two anthologies, as well as author of over 25 articles and book chapters. In 2012 he was named one of the Top 300 Professors from the Princeton Review. During his time at LMU, Stone served as Director of the University Honors Program (2009-2013), Chair of the Department of African American Studies (2012-2016), and Director of the Master of Arts program in Philosophy (2017-2021).
