Amy Yancey joined Boston College in October as Vice President for Development where she oversees a team of professionals dedicated to advancing the mission of Boston College through philanthropy. Previously, Amy led the central development team at the University of Virginia in their $5B campaign. Prior to UVA, Amy held leadership roles at Penn State and the University of Tennessee. Amy was vice president for production at Mars Publishing, a computer industry start-up in Los Angeles before pursuing a career in advancement. Amy holds a B.A. in philosophy and an M.S. in plant sciences with a minor in agricultural economics, both from the University of Tennessee. Her thesis was on intellectual property and applied research issues in applied higher education.
