Mary Mooney Burns, CNP, serves Rockhurst University as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement. In her role, Mooney Burns oversees all aspects of Development, Alumni Relations, University Relations/Communications, and the Center for Arts and Letters.
Mooney Burns is a proud alumna of Rockhurst University with her B.S. in Communications and Journalism. Additionally, she has earned her Non Profit Leadership and Executive MBA’s Advanced Leadership Certifications, both from Rockhurst University.
She has a 26-year career focused in development, volunteer management, and promotions for nonprofits. She has held executive leadership positions with the Park Hill School District, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the YMCA of Greater Kansas City prior to joining Rockhurst University.
Mooney Burns is recognized as an expert in her field due to her success in raising millions of dollars through major gift and capital campaigns, board and leadership development, annual fund campaigns, and planned gift programs.
