Dr. Mark Ligas is the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Excellence at Fairfield University. His portfolio of responsibility includes the Magis Core Curriculum, the University Honors Program, Academic Support and Retention, the Office of Accessibility, and University Career Services. In addition, he holds a tenured appointment as an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Dolan School of Business. Prior to being appointed Vice Provost in 2018, Mark served as Interim Dean and Associate Dean and Director of Graduate Programs for the Dolan School. Mark earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, a MS from the Pennsylvania State University, and a PhD from the University of Connecticut. His research work focuses on the role of brand meaning in consumption, emotions in retail settings, and customer-service provider relationships. Mark joined Fairfield University in 2000, upon completion of his graduate work, as an Assistant Professor of Marketing. Prior to pursuing graduate studies, he worked as a manager and as an assistant buyer for a Philadelphia-based retailer.
