Thomas E. Strunk is an associate professor of classical literature and ancient history at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. He is the Director of the Classics and Philosophy Honors Bachelor of Arts program. Thomas is also the Director of Faculty Programming for Mission & Identity. He earned a B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University in Classics and History. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Classics at Loyola University Chicago. His writing and research explore politics and political thought in ancient Rome and the modern world, particularly surrounding ideas of freedom. He is the author of History after Liberty, published by University of Michigan Press. He has also written on Dr. King as a reader of the classics, Latin poetry and the music of Bob Dylan, and St. Ignatius and Socrates.
