I graduated from Xavier University with bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Math, and earned a Ph.D. in Physics from Ohio State University. I joined the faculty at Xavier in 1995 and advanced to the rank of Professor, serving as chair of the Physics Department for 7 years until stepping into the role of Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School in 2012. I joined John Carroll University as Provost and Academic Vice President in the summer of 2019. My wife and I have been married for 34 years and we have four sons, three daughters-in-law, and two (soon to be three) grandsons.
