Cheryl Moore-Thomas is Professor and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Diversity at Loyola University Maryland. Working with the Provost, Deans, and Academic Departments, Cheryl coordinates faculty affairs across the career cycle; oversees the strategic digital pedagogy initiative; leads diversity and inclusion initiatives in Academic Affairs; oversees the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs; provides leadership for the Faculty Director for Community-Engaged Learning and Scholarship; and collaborates across the institution to support graduate programs and graduate students. Cheryl’s areas of scholarship include racial identity development, multicultural counseling competence, college and career readiness, and access and equity in education. In 2017, Cheryl was awarded the Faculty Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching. Since joining the Loyola faculty in 2000 as an assistant professor, Cheryl has assumed many leadership positions including Associate Dean of the School of Education, Chair of the Department of Education Specialties and Director of the School Counseling Program.
