Sharee Broussard is an award-winning professional, researcher and volunteer. She teaches courses in public relations and advertising as an associate professor of communication arts at Spring Hill College. She has been Chair of the Division of Communication, Fine and Performing Arts since 2014. Primarily in higher education and nonprofits, her 25-year career also includes small business and corporate marketing-communication management. Prior to becoming a faculty member, Broussard served as the Director of Alumni Relations/Executive Director of the Alumni Association for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, through which she oversaw the University’s Annual Fund as well as all alumni relations activities and personnel. She’s an active campus and community volunteer. She joined Spring Hill College’s faculty in 2004 and received her doctorate in Mass Communication with a minor in Marketing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2009. Her dissertation received the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education’s 2010 Alice L. Beeman Outstanding Dissertation Award for Research in Communications and Marketing for Educational Advancement. She is an accredited public relations practitioner and a graduate of Leadership Lafayette, La. Class 16. Her scholarship interests include applied and basic research in the areas of integrated marketing communication and its measurement/evaluation, institutional advancement and nonprofit leadership/governance.
