Robert Bellin graduated from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN in May 1994 with a B.A. in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. From there he moved to Iowa State University to work on a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, which he received in 2000. After conducting an additional year of postdoctoral work at Iowa State, he began a postdoctoral fellowship position at Children’s Hospital Boston/Harvard Medical School in May 2001. He was hired by the College of the Holy Cross and began work as an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department in September 2002. He received tenure and a promotion to Associate Professor in 2008 and spent the 2008-09 academic year as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Surgery at Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. During May of 2008, he participated in the Ignatian Pilgrimage and in June of 2011 he participated in Collegium as a faculty fellow. He continued his work with Collegium as a faculty mentor for the 2012 and 2013 summer colloquies and as a board member since 2012. In 2014 he was promoted to the academic rank of Professor and also became the chair of the Holy Cross Department of Biology. He serve as the board chair of Collegium from July 2017 – June 2018. In June 2018 he was named the first Director of Vocare at Holy Cross.
