Jesuit Advancement Administrators (JAA)

Mission Statement

The goal of the Jesuit Advancement Administrators (JAA) is to bring together in friendly relationship the professional workers of organized advancement activities (development, fundraising, public relations, marketing, alumni relations, government relations and advancement services) at all member institutions of AJCU, that they may study to mutual advantage the philosophy and challenges of their work; improve their technical competence; and keep their professional advancement programs contemporary and ready to adapt and respond to new situations resulting from the changing needs of society.

JAA has existed since 1990. The Network’s greatest achievement is the development of a national annual summer meeting that provides professional development and networking opportunities for advancement professionals from all AJCU member institutions. Planning the conference is the main work of the JAA Executive Committee, whose members meet two times per year. This Network plays an important role in enhancing the professional competency of advancement and development staff at Jesuit institutions. A major JAA achievement is the development of a benchmarking project that compares fundraising and other advancement metrics, providing important measurements for productivity and trends.

Providing quality professional development and networking opportunities within a Jesuit context has long been a key priority for JAA. The annual conference provides an excellent occasion for members to discuss how their institutions’ Jesuit, Catholic mission makes them distinctive, attractive and vital.
