The University of Scranton seeks a highly seasoned, collaborative, resourceful, and innovative Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration (SVP) to lead with integrity, humility, a positive mindset, and a deep commitment to the Jesuit principles that guide the University. As a member of the President’s Cabinet and reporting to President Fr. Joseph G. Marina, S.J., the SVP will lead a talented team of professionals in the areas of Budget & Finance, Facilities Management, the Controller’s Office, and Information Technology.

The SVP will serve as the Chief Financial Officer of University and is responsible for the ethical, thoughtful, and strategic stewardship of The University’s financial portfolio. The SVP must be a courageous financial leader and bold change agent to navigate today’s financial challenges for private higher education, while advancing the University’s key strategic goals. With a deep awareness of the University’s opportunities, challenges, and priorities, the SVP will serve as a senior advisor to the President and will work in close partnership with the provost and other cabinet members. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: stewarding the operating budget and financial planning efforts; oversight and growth of the University’s endowment; supporting the academic mission; oversight of the advancement of the University’s technological infrastructure; capital projects and space utilization; and sustainability efforts. Directly supervising five highly seasoned colleagues including the Associate Vice President of Facilities Management, the Associate Vice President of Information Technology and CIO, the Assistant Vice President of Budget and Financial Planning, the Controller, and the administrative assistant to the SVP, the SVP leads the Finance, Facilities Management, and Information Technology teams totaling 225 staff.
