Job Summary:
The Loretto Heights School of Nursing at Regis University in Denver, CO, is actively seeking applicants for contracted affiliate faculty in the area of Maternal Newborn Nursing.

Eligibility for RN licensure in Colorado and a graduate degree in nursing are required. Previous teaching experience and a Master’s degree is preferred.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The Maternal Newborn affiliate faculty fulfills the duties and responsibilities of an affiliate faculty member through the following:

1. Meets or exceeds the criteria for the applicable academic rank as detailed in the Affiliate Faculty Handbook;
2. Participates in activities and responsibilities of the School, College, and University committees;
3. Adheres to policies and procedures of the University, College, and School;
4. Maintains professional competence, current licensure, CPR certification, and compliance requirements;
5. Maintains compliance with agency requirements for being present with students in clinical settings;
6. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with other faculty members and staff of the University;
7. Maintains professional behavior and positive relationships in the internal and external communities associated with Regis University
8. Teaching activities include, but are not limited to:
ongoing responsibility for curriculum development and planning;

guiding, monitoring, and evaluating student learning in the classroom, skills and simulation laboratories, clinical agencies, Service Learning setting, and/or online.
9. Non-teaching activities include:

student advising as assigned;

scholarship;

service to the institution; and

community service.

Minimum Qualifications:

​​Must have a Masters or Doctoral degree or have a BSN with the ability to provide a written plan with Regis and the CO Board of Nursing to obtain a masters or higher degree in nursing.

Strong working clinical knowledge is required

RN experience as an L&D nurse is preferred (at least 2 years)

Colorado licensure as a registered nurse, BLS and NRP required

Teaching experience in practice or academia

Available to teach day, evening, and weekend courses and provide oversight for day, night, and weekend clinical rotations

Access to cell phone for communication while providing clinical oversight

Must live in the Denver Metro area or surrounding area

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and skills related to the teaching of adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development and evaluation

PP/Nursery experience

NICU experience

Work Schedule: To be determined

Benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.

Pay Rate:
$45 – $55 per hour with orientation, based on degree held. $45 per hour for BSN Lab Assistant, Lab Affiliate Faculty $55 per hour.
