The School of Physical Therapy in the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions at Regis University seeks applicants for a 9-month faculty appointment (August 1 to April 30) at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Health & Exercise Science Program. Responsibilities include teaching in assigned areas of expertise, scholarship, student advising, and service at all levels of the University and in the community.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualified candidates will have an academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) as well as evidence of collegiate teaching, scholarship dissemination, and a commitment to inclusive practices. Doctoral candidates will be considered, pending anticipated completion within 12 months of start date. Those with a master’s degree in public health will also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in any combination of the following areas: human physiology, human anatomy, movement science, research design and statistics, social determinants of health, and biomechanics.

The School of Physical Therapy has five programs including an undergraduate degree in Health & Exercise Science, an entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, an orthopaedic physical therapy residency, a fellowship program in orthopaedic manual physical therapy, and a collaborative partnership Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program with Creighton University.
Our Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science (HES) combines the following principles to optimize physical, mental, and social wellbeing: behavioral health, biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor behavior, nutrition, and health psychology. The HES degree lays the foundation for careers in health professions including occupational therapy, physical therapy, personal training, athletic training, and community health. Within the course work included in this degree is an internship for students to gain practical experience in community health, individual fitness, or health policy settings.
