Housekeeper

Summary:
The primary purpose of the Housekeeping position is to keep the areas clean and ready for Jesuit community of Schell House.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily cleaning of the assigned work area in residence, including living areas, kitchen, hallways, bedrooms, etc.
Empty trash cans and replace liners.
Vacuum carpeted areas.
Dust.
Clean and sanitize restrooms including toilets, face bowls, counter tops, floors, vents
Inspect and sweep entrances.
Keep tools, cleaning supplies and chemicals safe.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to read and understand English language.
Knowledge of how to clean and maintain adequate living environments with strong attention to detail.
Knowing how to use basic computer programs: Google, email.
Knowing how to use cleaning equipment.
Interest in understanding and supporting John Carroll’s mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world.
Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma and professional cleaning experience.
Specialized training in: Cleaning /Sanitation & Chemical Use.
1-3 years of prior experience with housekeeping and organization.

Physical Requirements :
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a home setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate cleaning equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination; to verbally communicate to exchange information with the Jesuit superior.
