The purpose of this job is to coordinate programming and support resources for Native students from pre-college preparation to alumni engagement. This position contributes to the overall vision of The Office of Tribal Relations by accompanying Native students through activities that support academic success, student retention, and preparation for post-college life.

Accompaniment of Native Students

Initiate, build, and maintain relationships with Native high school, undergraduate, and graduate students on their Gonzaga University journey.
Be familiar and current with Native student care and support strategies; maintain knowledge of student supports in the Gonzaga and Spokane communities; implement non-clinical interventions to provide care, support, and resources for Native students who have challenges with health, wellness, academics, behavior, safety, general welfare, and/or continuing at the university.
Maintain a system of follow-up for students who have been referred to campus or community resources, including providing services to encourage compliance with recommendations and care plans.
Advocate for Native students when appropriate.

Manage web page and social media.
Create and maintain listserv for Native students at Gonzaga University.
Order office supplies, place/oversee work orders.
Support event planning by distributing flyers, making space reservations, placing food orders, and processing speaker payments.

Collaborate with Gonzaga University campus and Spokane community partners to plan and provide workshops for Native students on financial aid, scholarship and internship opportunities, health and wellness, etc.
Collaborate with Office of Admission to coordinate campus visits for Native students.

Other tasks as requested by the Department.
