In the Office of Student Involvement (OSI), the Associate Director, Student Governance and Leadership serves as an integral team member in an office that manages over 200 student organizations, the Campus Activities Board, the Undergraduate Government of Boston College (UGBC), and programs for 9,000+ undergraduate students.

The Associate Director, Student Governance and Leadership provides primary oversight for student government and leadership development programs that directly impact student involvement and engagement within a Jesuit, Catholic context.

The Associate Director oversees and advises the student governance structures within the Undergraduate Government of Boston College (UGBC), provides oversight and responsibility for the creation, planning, management, and/or execution of university-wide and departmental programs associated with UGBC and the Office of Student Involvement. As a member of the leadership team within OSI, this role collaborates to design and facilitate onboarding of team members including graduate students, student  workers, as well as professional staff.

The Associate Director supervises one (1) professional staff member responsible for the student leadership programs, as well as graduate assistants.

This position is located in the Office of Student Involvement (OSI) which includes the following functions: student organization advisement; leadership development, student government and student programming. The Office also supports; signature student  experiences including Senior Week, Super Fan Zones, programming initiatives sponsored by UGBC and supporting other campus wide programs including Weeks of Welcome, Homecoming, Marathon Monday/Mile 21, and Commencement.

In order to create a more inclusive community within the Division of Student Affairs, each staff member is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.
