Assistant Supervisor


The Assistant Supervisor, Carpentry Operations (ASCO) assists the Supervisor, Carpentry Operations (SCO) in directing and leading seventeen (17) union staff of the Carpentry, Paint and Lock shops in the upkeep and maintenance of all buildings on a 8 million square foot campus serving 15,075 full-time and part-time students and 4,399 faculty and staff. This includes supporting a NCAA Division 1 Athletics program and its facilities. 

The ASCO assists in managing the daily operations of assigning, directing, coordinating and checking the work of all trades staff and communicates within and external to Trades Services to ensure timely completion or quality work with the minimum disruption to the university mission. The ASCO will make extensive use of a work order management system in the accomplishment of a myriad of tasks and some projects. 

The ASCO will also assist the SCO with responsibilities within Trades Services for building envelope repairs and upkeep and will coordinate with Annual Capital Projects staff and PMs on envelope projects. 

The ASCO will lead the shops in the absence of the SCO and will be an integral part of any campus emergency response where buildings are affected. 
This position is essential and will have a scheduled 35-hour work week. The standard hours for this position are Monday-Friday 6:30 AM-2:30 PM, however, essential functions of this position will require occasional duties outside of the regularly scheduled work week to support university special events, complete projects, or respond to emergencies.  This may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $80,850 to $101,050; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
