The Division of Education is seeking an Affiliate Faculty member for Fall semester 2023.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be able to teach reading strategies and must have a working knowledge of the Colorado READ Act and specialized understanding of the Science of Reading. They would be expected to teach ED 403A – Reading Instruction and Assessment and/or ED 403C – Essentials of Early Literacy Instruction. These are classes are part of the licensure sequence for the State of Colorado Elementary Teaching Endorsement. There is a possibility of teaching opportunities during the spring.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Education (in Reading or Endorsement in Reading) as well as teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Education or an Ed.D

Work Schedule:

The fall semester is August 21, 2023 through November 29, 2023 and finals the week following. Affiliate faculty are required to hold office hours for one hour per week, per course. The class schedules are as follows:

Monday/Wednesday 12:30 to 1:45pm

Monday/Wednesday 2:00 to 3:15pm

Benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.

Pay Rate:
$3,225 per course
