AJCU advocates for all Federal financial aid programs that are essential for providing access and affordability to higher education. Pell grants, campus-based aid, student support services, Federal student loans and other Federal post-secondary education programs are critical on Jesuit campuses and need to be preserved. AJCU works extensively with the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Congress on issues relating to appropriations, budget, taxes, higher education reauthorization, and regulatory matters, all of which impact students and the broader Jesuit campus community. AJCU also advocates for student-centered programs, such as those forstudent veterans, and works in support of immigration issues, including DACA.
The AJCU Government Relations Network is the lobbying arm of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. It is comprised of representatives from all twenty-seven Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. The Network meets annually for a legislative conference, and participates in the annual Committee for Education Funding (CEF) Legislative Conference and Awards Dinner.
