Staff and Faculty Mission Liaisons

Short Program Description:

Staff and faculty from different departments across Saint Louis University meet monthly to serve as liaisons to the Office of Mission and Identity. These liaisons provide input, gather ideas for more purposeful and meaningful mission integration, and convey mission initiatives in their departments.

1. Foster mission partners across campus.
2. Formation in Mission.
3. Increased participation in mission initiatives by including representative voices across schools and departments.

Other Stipends: There is no stipend; meetings are luncheons provided by the Mission Office.

Lessons Learned:

People respond to the mission of SLU, but often don’t know how they can, and do, support it. By coming together, mission-focused faculty and staff learn from each other and hear about how the mission is lived across campus. They then take ownership and become representatives of the Office of Mission and Identity to their schools and departments.

At the end of the academic year, the group does an Examen to discern what was helpful, what is needed for the program, and how to plan for the coming year.
