Short Program Description:
The New Trustee Orientation to Mission program introduces new trustees to the University of Detroit Mercy’s (UDM) unique mission as a Jesuit and Mercy-sponsored institution.
Program Goals/Intended Outcomes:
1. Honor UDM’s history—particularly how the consolidation of Mercy College of Detroit and University of Detroit founded the University of Detroit Mercy.
2. Understand UDM’s mission statement and core values.
3. Become familiar with UDM’s Office of Mission Integration and University Ministry.
4. Understand trustees’ fiducial responsibility with regard to mission.
