Jesuit Center Spirituality Luncheons

Short Program Description:

Each month, all faculty, staff, and administrators at The University of Scranton are invited to a free luncheon with a short talk on some aspect of Ignatian spirituality (broadly construed). Recent topics include The Jesuit Center’s new executive director’s vocation story, a report from faculty who attended the Outreach Conference at Fordham University, and a presentation on the history of basketball at Jesuit schools during March Madness.

Program Goals/Intended Outcomes:

1. Gather a broad swath of University community members (including administrators, faculty members and staff, as well as members of the facilities team) for a mission-centric event to build community.

2. Increase attendees’ general knowledge and awareness about the breadth of ways that community members are pursuing the University’s mission, or how that mission has been lived out historically.

3) Bring as many community members as possible (usually 60-90 attendees) into contact with The Jesuit Center, to raise and maintain awareness of its presence on campus.

How long does it take to complete the program?: 1-3 hours

Further Details on Completing Program: Luncheons begin at noon and end promptly by 12:50pm, allowing attendees time to return to their desks or the classroom for the 1pm class window.
