Jesu-what?

Short Program Description:

“Jesu-what?” provides an introduction to the College of the Holy Cross’ contemporary Jesuit mission. Jesu-what? meetings occur each semester over three luncheon sessions. Themes include: Ignatian spirituality and Jesuit education; the characteristics of Jesuit higher education today; and Holy Cross’ mission from the present to the future.

Program Goals/Intended Outcomes:

1. Provide foundational insight into how Jesuit education at Holy Cross takes form.
2. Encourage participants to reflect how they engage with the particularities of the College’s mission.
3. Encourage participants to name how the mission shapes their own contributions beyond the College.
3. Lay the groundwork for future participation with the Office of Mission Engagement and its offerings.

Lessons Learned:

The program is assessed using a combination of open-ended and Likert scale questions. Holy Cross has learned that respondents feel more confident and affirmed in their specific roles with donors, alumni, and students. They also experience a sense of meaning in being in a reflective space with colleagues from around the College. Others appreciate the opportunity to engage with their own faith in relation to the College’s mission.
