Short Program Description:

Members of The University of Scranton community meet monthly during the academic year to study texts including the “autobiography” of St. Ignatius of Loyola and “The First Jesuits” by Rev. John O’Malley, S.J. The program “capstone” is a 10-day pilgrimage on the Camino Ignaciano. Throughout the program, there is an emphasis on collegiality, personal appropriation of core Ignatian-Jesuit values and stories, and consideration of how participants can translate the experience into their work at the University.

Program Goals/Intended Outcomes:

1. Deepened familiarity/engagement with the foundational stories of the Jesuit tradition.

2. Community-building among program participants (within and between the annual cohorts).

3. Build significant “buy-in” for The Jesuit Center’s work.
