Short Program Description:

The Faculty Writing Retreat at Loyola University Chicago provides faculty with a few days away to focus on individual writing projects – whatever they may be – in the context of Loyola’s mission and community. While the time is greatly unscheduled and private, it is still communal. The group comes together each morning for a brief time of spiritual focus. Every evening, the faculty gather for communal sharing and reflection on their vocation as educators and scholars.

Program Goals/Intended Outcomes:

1. Deepen the connection between mission integration and faculty by providing a space of care and community.
2. Deepen a sense of belonging and connection for faculty to aid retention and create authentic community.
3. Support faculty in their scholarship endeavors.

Don’t complicate things, offer good snacks, and make sure tea and coffee are available all day!
