Short Program Description:

Required by the Provost and facilitated by the Vice President for Mission Integration and Ministry, Fordham University’s Deans’ Ignatian Forum meets quarterly for conversations on crucial topics for academic leadership at a Jesuit university, with time for personal reflection, sharing, and mutual support.

Program Goals/Intended Outcomes:

Foster an environment where academic leadership can learn about the Ignatian mission and discuss issues that impact learning at a Jesuit college or university.

Lessons Learned:

This formation program introduces/strengthens Fordham’s deans with the Ignatian mission. The program has run for seven years, and has been adjusted over time to provide information and support, and address any mission-related questions/concerns that the deans may have. For the most part, the deans have expressed appreciation for the Forum, describing the conversations on Fordham’s Jesuit identity and mission as substantive and engaging.
