Short Program Description:

The Saint Peter’s Colleagues Program is a cohort seminar-style program at Saint Peter’s University modeled on the Ignatian Colleagues Program and intended to achieve similar goals on a smaller budget. In addition to seminars every third week, the program includes a day of service immersion and an overnight retreat.

Program Goals/Intended Outcomes:

The primary goal of this program is to develop Ignatian partners in Jesuit higher education who are capable of and committed to assuming leadership within the Ignatian educational heritage and who will help sustain Saint Peter’s University’s Jesuit, Catholic character into the future. In addition to engaging intellectually with the program topics and materials, reflective essays allow the participants to integrate what they’ve learned with their University roles and work. The capstone project is intended to help participants bring mission back to their departmental work and increase collegiality.

Lessons Learned:

The Seminar is still in progress, but the biggest challenge is getting participants (who are pretty overwhelmed by work) to allow space and time for quiet reflection.
