Campus Colleagues
Campus Colleagues is a year-long program designed to build community and deepen the College of the Holy Cross’ shared mission with faculty and staff. It grew from a capstone project developed by Holy Cross faculty and staff who have participated in the Ignatian Colleagues Program. Campus Colleagues has four meetings (two per semester): meetings 1 and 4 (3 hours) are held at the Joyce Contemplative Center and the remaining sessions (1.5 hours) are held on campus. All meetings consist of shared meals, presentations, reflections, and conversations. Facilitation is shared with a group of campus partners. Meeting themes include: sharing stories of how each participant came to work at the College; characteristics of Jesuit higher education; and participants’ own journeys.
1. Create intentional space for shared exploration of the meaning of each participant’s work at Holy Cross in light of the College’s Jesuit, Catholic and liberal arts mission and identity.
2. Foster a deeper sense of community across the campus.
3. Develop bonds between faculty and staff from distinct areas of the College.
4. Cultivate a desire for campus leadership in mission and identity.
The Office of Mission Engagement conducts a five-question survey to gather Campus Colleagues pre-program data. Deeper conversations on mission topics and personal sharing are desired. Diversity in all respects, as well as the balance of faculty/staff, is a continued question.
