Arrupe Fellowship

Short Program Description:

The Arrupe Fellowship is a two-year mission formation program for faculty and staff who have a demonstrated commitment to Saint Louis University’s (SLU’s) Jesuit mission and identity.

After one year of immersive Jesuit history study, fellows experience an Ignatian Pilgrimage, following St. Ignatius’ footsteps from Loyola, Spain, to Rome, Italy. In the second year, fellows use their pilgrimage experience to explore the legacy of late Jesuit Superior General Pedro Arrupe, S.J., specifically applying their learning to their work and community at SLU.

Program Goals/Intended Outcomes:

Over two academic years, cohorts pursue in-depth and hands-on exploration of the intellectual, spiritual, and service-oriented aspects of Ignatian thought and praxis. At the program’s conclusion, each participant presents a capstone project demonstrating the integration of their learning into their role at SLU.
