Jeanne F. Lord, J.D., Ed.D.

Jeanne Fielding Lord, Ed.D., J.D. was named director of the AJCU Leadership Institute (formerly known as the Jesuit Leadership Seminar) in January 2014. In addition to her work with AJCU, Lord serves as Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Georgetown University, where she also holds appointments as a professional lecturer in the departments of Catholic Studies and American Studies.

Lord earned her undergraduate degree at the Medical College of Virginia, and holds a J.D from The Catholic University of America and an Ed.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a frequent speaker on the topic of women’s leadership, and in 2009 was invited to give the Rita Casella Jones Lecture at the Francis and Ann Curran Center for American Catholic Studies at Fordham University. In 2011, she was elected to honorary membership in Alpha Sigma Nu, and is a recipient of the Matteo Ricci Award from the John Carroll Fellows Program at Georgetown.

Lord has long been deeply involved in promoting Jesuit mission and identity, and has participated in both the AJCU Leadership Institute and the Ignatian Colleagues Program. In partnership with the Office of Mission and Ministry at Georgetown, she facilitates seminars on Jesuit higher education and Ignatian traditions for staff and faculty.
